Directions
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground lamb
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon fresh mint, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Olive oil, for grilling
- 4 hamburger buns or pitas
- Tzatziki sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Sliced tomatoes, lettuce, and red onion for garnish
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, crumbled feta cheese, chopped red onion, minced garlic, dried oregano, chopped mint, chopped parsley, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the lamb mixture.
- Divide the lamb mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Brush the grill grates lightly with olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Place the lamb patties on the preheated grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Make sure to only flip the patties once to get those beautiful grill marks.
- While the lamb burgers are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill until they are warm and slightly golden.
- Once the lamb burgers are cooked to perfection, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- To assemble the burgers, spread a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce on the bottom half of each pita bread or toasted bun. Place a lamb patty on top of the sauce, then add sliced tomatoes, lettuce, and red onion as desired.
- Serve the Mediterranean Lamb Burgers immediately, and watch as even the skeptics become fans of these flavorful and juicy burgers with a Greek twist! Enjoy!
